2023 Pentecost Holy Consecration

The Road to Pentecost

The word Pentecost means in Greek “the fiftieth” referring to the fiftieth day after the offering of first fruits during the Passover festival. Every year the Israelite farmers would start their journey to Jerusalem to present their offerings to God. The sacrificial offerings required by God were extensive! On the Pentecost festival immediately following Christ’s resurrection, God poured out the Holy Spirit upon the Jerusalem Church, enabling them to perform extraordinary deeds. Let us now sacrifice so that we may be equipped and fortified for the journey ahead. God responds to our sacrifice!
